“Qeemat” (1946) is an extremely rare and obscure movie by now. Hardly any information is available about this movie online. This movie had Sulochana Chatterjee, Amar etc in it, as far as I can find out.
This movie had as many as eleven songs in it. One song from this movie has been discussed in the past.
Here is a nice song from “Qeemat” (1946). It is sung by Amirbai Karnataki. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.
What a lovely song it is ! Those were the days when records radio, the only soouces of music were quite scarce and so a song like this may not have had the opportunity to get played as often as songs from later decades, but I am sure that this song must have been quite popular with music lovers of that time.
I listened to this song for the first time only just now and this song made my morning.
Song-Man dol raha hai (Qeemat)(1946) Singer-Amirbai Karnataki, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-Naushad
Lyrics
man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai
kar loon main unhen pyaar
khayaalon mein bula kar
khayaalon mein bula kar
rakhna unhen is dil mein
zamaane se chhupaa kar
zamaane se chhupaa kar
chupke se in aankhon mein koi bol raha hai
chupke se in aankhon mein koi bol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai
ik chor chhupa hai
mujhe deewaana bana ke
deewaana bana ke
dukh dga ye pehloon mein
mere dard uthha ke
dard uthha ke
ye dard mere dil ki girah khol raha hai
ye dard mere dil ki girah khol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai
do phool se ek pyaar ki maala hai banaana
maala hai banaana
toote na ye maala
mere bhagwaan bachaana
bhagwaan bachaana
jeewan mein yahi pyaar ka ras ghol raha hai
jeewan mein yahi pyaar ka ras ghol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
man dol raha hai
mera man dol raha hai

This song is so well constructed the words and the music fit so well together and flow so naturally.
Early drafted version of “man dole..mera tan dole…”
great to have in your blog.
