“Gambler” (1960) was a Vikas Productions movie. It was directed by Dwarka Khosla. The movie had Premnath, Shakila, Pran, K N Singh, Cuckoo, Shammi, Madan Puri, Agha etc in it.
This movie, lesser known than “Gambler” (1970) and “The Great Gambler” (1979) had some nice songs in it that have also been forgotten with time.
Here is a superb “chhaayaageet” genre of song from “Gambler” (1960). The song is sung by Mukesh and Lata. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Chitragupta.
Only the audio of this song is available. My guess is that the song was picturised on Premnath and Shakila. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
