Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Ye hansi ye khushi

Posted on: September 23, 2013

“Armaan” (1953) was a Film Trust of India production. It was directed by Fali Mistry. the movie had Dev Anand, Madhubala, Shakila, Jagirdar, Gulab, Murad, K. N. Singh etc in it.

Seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eighth and final song from the movie. It is sung by Geeta Dutt. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.

Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Avinash Scrapwala.

With this song, “Armaan” (1953) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Song-Ye hansi ye khushi (Armaan)(1953) Singer-Geeta Dutt, Lyrics-Sahir Ludhianvi, MD-S D Burman

Lyrics (Provided by Avinash Scrapwala)

Ye hansi
ye khushi
laakhon baras yoonhi aaye
ye hansi
ye khushi
Laakhon baras yoonhi aaye

naujawaani teri geet gaati rahe
zindagi naaz se muskuraati rahe

naujawaani teri geet gaati rahe
zindagi naaz se muskuraati rahe
dam badam (?) roop ki dhoop chadhti rahe
har adaa teri jaadoo jagaati rahe
ye tera baankpan
sabke dilon mein samaaye
ye hansi
ye khushi
Laakhon baras yoonhi aaye

aarzoo ke chaman mein bahaar aa gayi
har khushi kar ke solah singaar aa gayi
aarzoo ke chaman mein bahaar aa gayi
har khushi kar ke solah singaar aa gayi
aaj sab dil ke armaan poore huye
wo ghadi jiska thha intezaar aa gayi
pyaar ne
jhoom ke
khushiyon ke moti lutaaye
ye hansi
ye khushi
Laakhon baras yoonhi aaye

dhadkanon ka taraana badalne ko hai
aaj saara zamaana badalne ko hai
dhadkanon ka taraana badalne ko hai
aaj saara zamaana badalne ko hai
zindagi le rahi hai nayi karvatein
har puraana fasaana badalne ko hai
ye hawaa
ye fizaa
kya jaane kya rang laaye
ye hansi
ye khushi
Laakhon baras yoonhi aaye

@ Atul ji – Thanks for the post and Congratulations on another movie joining to the list of ‘Movies- All Songs Covered’ …!!

(When I read that all songs of this movie have been covered, I understand that I that I was doing mistake by insisting on the Talat Saab’s ‘bol na bol ae jaanewaale’ and just now I check with the song ‘chaahe kitna mujhe tum bulaaoge’ which is in multiple versions, and the part ‘bol na bol ae jaanewaale’ covered in it.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused ..)

This is one of my favorite Geeta numbers!! Could it have been picturized (only) on Madhu?
