“Bhai Bahan” (1950) was produced by Krishna M and directed by Ram Daryani. The movie had Geeta Bali, Nirupa Roy, K N Singh, Prem Adeeb, Bharat Bhushan, Gope, Jeewan, Kukku etc in it.
Two songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.
Today (21 january 2014) is the 49th death anniversary of Geeta Bali (1930-21 january 1965). It is difficult to imagine that she was only 35 years of age when she left for her heavenly abode. She had achieved so much in her career during her active acting period of a little over one decade.
As a tribute to Geeta Bali, here is a song from “Bhai Bahan” (1950). The song is sung by Lata. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shyam Sundar.
Only the audio of this song is available and it is not known how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Thanks to Nitin ji and Atul ji for this song. I heard first time about this song. One of the masterpiece of Lyricist Rajendra Krishna who very well critisize the Dowry system. Those were the days when Lyricist were very progressive and Bollywood songs have strong messages itself. Wo din ab na rahe……
