“Miss Coca Cola” (1955) was directed by Kedar Kapoor for Danny Pictures. The movie had Geeta Bali, Shammi Kapoor, Lalita Pawar, Om Prakash, Johnny Walker, Helen, Kuldip Kaur, Kamal Kapoor, Mumtaz Begum etc in it.
This was a film movie from an era when Shammi Kapoor had yet to find his stardom. In this movie he is paired opposite his future wife Geeta Bali. This is the only such movie that the two acted in. There was another movie where the two acted together, but Geeta Bali was only the guest artist in that movie.
This movie flopped badly. The makers of this movie did not bother to preserve the prints of this movie and today no prnts of this movie are available. Shammi Kapoor in his advanced age himself had a fond wish to be able to see this movie but that was not to be.
The same storyline was later used in the movie “Aaya Saawan Jhoom Ke” (1969). Unlike “Miss Coca Cola” (1955), “Aaya Saawan Jhoom Ke” (1969) turned out to be a success at the box office.
Seven songs from “Miss Coca Cola”(1955) have been discussed in the past. Here is the eighth and final song from the movie. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.
