“Puraskaar” (1970) was produced and directed by Ram Kumar. The movie had Joy Mukherjee, Sapna, Fariyal, Abhi Bhattacharya, Farida Jalal, Mahendra, Nigar Sultana, Helen, I. S. Johar, Bipin Gupta, Ram Kumar etc in it.
Though this movie was released at the time when I was about eight years old and very knowledgeable about Hindi movies of those days, but I never became aware of this movie and its songs at that time. Much later, I became aware of it thanks to the review of this movie by Memsaab.
This movie had five songs in it. Four of them have been discussed in the past.
Here is the fifth and final song from the movie. It is an archtypical cabarat song. It is sung by Asha Bhonsle and is picturised on Helen. Almost all important actors of this movie are present on this occasion, either in disguise or without it.
S H Bihari is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.
With this song, “Puraskaar” (1970) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.
