“Duniya” (1949) was produced by Fazli brothers and directed by S F Hussain. The movie had Karan Dewan, Suraiya, Yakub, Anwari, Bhudo Advani, Shakila, Zubeida, Jankidas etc in it.
Five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from the movie. It is sung by Suraiyya. There were four lyricists in this movie, viz. Aarzoo Lakhnavi, S.H. Bihari, Asad Bhopali and Saraswati Kumar Deepak but the lyricist of this song is not known. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the lyricist of this song.
C Ramchandra is the music director.
Only the audio of this song is available, but it is clear that the song was picturised on Suraiyya herself.

I always maintai that Anna’s orchaestration is difficult to imitate…every stanza begins with new tune and style, and find amazing that instruments play intriguing interludes…well-knit ups and downs, with perfection …thosewho rehearse his compositions on synth or harmonium or mandolin will agree with me. Salute to those who assisted him , wrote down the swaralipi… Anna, his close admirers revealed that Anna suffered a great setback when he lost his own private diary ( late 60;s)that contained several hundred tunes. His contemporary artists respected him ( Anna) over his unparalled expertise in writing swaralipi. Anna could not recover after Latadidi split added with the loss of the diary. Once an HMV boss GN Joshi in his book (Swaragangechya kathi -please correct me).. . laments over the loss of Anna’s sad musical demise. His admirers know well that Chic Chocolate, Datta Davjekar ( the respected music director in Maharashtrian households), Nissar, Inoc Daniel, Manohar ( Mandolinist ? – ) ,Gomes…were some of his virtuous close associates. Anna was over-generous in letting Chic Chocolate use his brandname in some movies ( Nadaan…)… Music lovers may correct my information….
