There are some songs which I found on youtube and saved for future posts. My Draft boxes are full of them. I was just going through the draft boxes, to sent such lyrics to Atul ji, where inevitably some songs are so touching and truthful, that I decided to write the post myself.
One such song in this Rafi solo from the film ‘Shaadi’ (1962). It is written by Rajendra Krishan and composed by Chitragupt. It is picturized on Indrani Mukherjee, who looks a lot like Meena Kumari. The film stars Dharmendra, Saira Bano, Balraj Sahni, Manorama, Omprakash etc. In the song Dharmendra can also be seen. It is playing in the background and Indrani Mukherjee is crying her hear out, in repentance of her past actions, which have come back to haunt her.
Four songs from this film are posted in the blog. It appears to be a family drama tearjerker kind of film. I have not come across any black n white films starring Saira Bano before this. The songs appear to be nice, as was mostly the case with family drama’s of the era, with a social message.
To repent, is truly a human trait. One doesn’t expect animals to have such behavioral pattern. I dont know about domestic ones, since we never have pets. Discounting those pigeons with two little one’s in the grill of my kitchen window. Some relatives and friends have had cats as pet. A cousin also went through a fad of having ‘tortoise’s ‘ as pets, but she soon grew out of it. When we were kids, an elderly uncle a neighbour had white mice. He loved them a lot and used to keep them in an open box and not in a cage. I do not how they used to manage them.
But even most wild animals only ever kill to survive and there is a law in their jungle too. They dont kill to establish supremacy or just for fun.
Anyway, I do not know what wrong Indrani Mukherjee has done to Dharmendra and Saira Banu that she is getting punished. But a learning curve is a learning curve. Her sin may not be so big that she ca not make amends and the film most likely has a happy ending. So let’s be positive and hope for the best.
I will return with a positive sounding song in the next post.

After Junglee she acted really in a junglee fashion with Manmohan Desai in Bluff Master throwing tantrums abetted by her mother Naseem Bano Junglee ke bal bute per. Her mother wanted the film made in colour, give more footage for Saira etc. But she forgot that same Shammi had no issues. But Desai put his foot down; nothing doing.

Saira Bano acted in ‘Bluff Master’-another black n white film.This was the last and she never acted in black n white movies everafter.

If I am not wrong, Aao pyaar karein(1964)starring Joy Mukherjee and Saira Bano(music:Usha khanna) is also a black and white movie(eventhough one song is in colour)

You are absolutely right,Prakashchandra ji !!But for a song in colour-Ek Sunehri Sham Thi,Aao Pyar Karen was another black n white movie after Bluff Master,
