“Pyaar” (1950) was directed by V M Vyas for Sunrise Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Yakoob, Gulab, Shyama, Nawab, Neelam, Kesri, Wazir Muhammad Khan, Parvati Devi etc in it.
Seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.
HFGK mentions that there are nine songs in it. One of them is “Chhup Chhup Chhup” which is sung by Geeta Dutt and its record number is given. Then another song is mentioned as “aa gayi re aa gayi” with no details regarding its record number and singer etc. All online sources have dutifully copied this information, with seemingly none of them bothering to listen to the songs.
On locating the song and listening to it, I see that there is only one song (and not too) that contains the words “chhup chhup chhup chhup” followed by “aa gayi re aa gayi”. That explains why record number is provided for only one and no details are available for the other song. There cannot be details for the other song because that song is non existent ! There is only one song, viz “Aa gayi re aa gayi” which begins with the words “chhup chhup chhup chhup”.
So there are only eight songs in “Pyaar”(1950) and not nine.
Here is this eighth and final song of “Pyaar”(1950). This song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.
Only the audio of this song is available but it apperas that this song, like the other Geeta Dutt songs in the movie was picturised on Nargis.
With this song, “Pyaar”(1950) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.
