Regulars may have noticed that posting of songs had slowed down considerably towards the end of 2014. Then it picked up considerbly in January 2015 (josh of new year resolution 🙂 ). The rate of posting of songs in february 2015 is somewhat slower compared to january.
I tried to analyse the reasons why I am not able to post songs at the desired rate. There were occsaions in the past when I would post 6-7 songs by morning itself, whereas these days it makes me almost the whole day to reach 5-6 songs in a day.
I think that the winter season is to blame. 🙂 I felt the cold so much this time that I would look forward to slip inside the quilt at night and more importantly I would remain there even in the morning when I knew fully well that it was already morning.
I would wake up twice during the night though. My dogs would insist on going out after midnight. I would let them out and then go back to sleep. After a few hours, I would be woken up by a a knock at the door and I would realise that the dogs are back and Bhole is knocking at the door. I would wake up (typically at 4 AM in the morning), let the dogs in and then go back to sleep again, only to wake up later than what I would otherwise do.
In the past (circa 2011), I would wake up at 4-30 AM and even earlier and start blogging. 🙂 By 10 AM I would be done for the day as far as posting of 6-7 songs were concerned. I neither felt cold not felt sleepy those days. 🙂 Kahaan chale gaye wo din. 🙂
These days I have a vague outline of what songs I would discuss every day. The first song would be an obscure song from the early 1930s. Then there would be a song composed by an artist who is nearing his maiden century. Then there would be a YIPPEE song. Then there would be a semi YIPPEE song. I call the penultimate remaing song of a movie as semi YIPPEE song for this purpose. 🙂 So, in brief there is some method behind the daily posting of songs. If time permits then I try to post some long pending writeups. For instance, articles about my dogs are pending for over a year. I also have an article pending on the remarkable tale of a pet of another person.
Then there are guest posts. I received a writeup from Peevesie’s mom this afternoon and she wondered if it could be posted today. This writeup was meant to be a birthday greeting for an artist as well as a blog regular and a wedding anniversary greeing for another blog regular. And today I found myself without any electricity at work and at home. Home luckily as an invertor, but I wondered how long the invertor battery would last before getting discharged. I spent the whole afternoon without electricity at office. When I came back home, there was no electricity. Just when I was beginning to despair that electricity came back, after a break of nearly six hours or so. I heaved a sigh of relief. The first thing that I did was to post the guest article of Peevesie’s mom.
While at office without electricity, I had nothing else to do so I tried to browse internet on my mobile. There I was pleasantly surprised to note that Sudhir Ji had posted an article after nearly a week long break. And it was an article on Mumbai get together- the third episode !
With all these songs discussed, the YIPPEE song for the day still remains to be discussed. Here it is. This song is the eighth and final song from “Manzil”(1960). As often happens in case of YIPPEE songs, this song was not available on YT.
This song is sung by Manna Dey and chorus. Majrooh sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.
With this song, “Manzil”(1960) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.
