“Oomar Qaid” (1961) was produced by Super pictures and directed by Aspi Irani. This movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Sudhir, Nazima, Helen, Mukri, Hiralal, Sulochana, Mohan Choti, Jeevankala etc in it.
Helen had started to become a one item song fixture in Hindi movies by that time. She would typically appear in one cabarat song and that was all.
But this movie is an exception. Helen plays quite a big role in this movie and appears in the movie in scenes where she does not have to dance. And when it comes to dancing, she has more than one dance in this movie.
Here is a Helen club dance from “Oomer Qaid” (1961). The song is written by Hasrat Jaipuri. Music is composed by Iqbal Qureshy.
