“Laal E Yaman” (1933) was the first movie of JBH Wadia that he produced under his banner of Wadia Movietone. The movie had Jaal Khambhata, Karim Jah, Feroz Dastoor, Master Mohammad, Sayani, Nazeer, B Khan, Baman Shroff, Padma, Mohini, Kamla, Mayuri, Miss Leela etc in it.
Nine songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the tenth song from “Laal e Yaman”(1933). This song is sung by Feroz Dastoor. Though only the audio of this song is available, it is clear that the song was picturised on Feroz Dastoor himself.
Lyricist of this song could be Munshi Aashaq, not though the lyricist is not mentioned in HFGK for this song. There were two music directors of the movie, viz Master Mohammad/ Josef David. The music director of this song is not known either.
I have not been able to get the lyrics right to my satisfaction. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections wherever applicable in the lyrics.
