“Laal E Yaman” (1933) was the first movie of JBH Wadia that he produced under his banner of Wadia Movietone. The movie had Jaal Khambhata, Karim Jah, Feroz Dastoor, Master Mohammad, Sayani, Nazeer, B Khan, Baman Shroff, Padma, Mohini, Kamla, Mayuri, Miss Leela etc in it.
Ten songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eleventh song from “Laal e Yaman”(1933). The song is sung by Master Mohammad. Lyricists and music director for this song is not mentioned. Seeing that Master Mohammad was one of the music director (Josef David being the other) and that he also acted in it, it is my guess that this song was composed by Master Mohammad and it was lip synced by he himself as was the trend in those days of actors singing for themselves.
I have not been able to get a few words in the lyrics to my satisfaction. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections wherever applicable.
