“Baag e Misar”(1934) was produced and directed by J B H Wadia for Wadia Movietone, Bombay. The movie had Feroz Dastoor, Master Mohammad, Boman Shroff, Miss Padma, Miss Jamuna, Jal Khambhata, S Nazir, Minu Cooper etc in it.
Here is the first song from this movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Feroz Dastoor. Munshi Aashiq is the lyricist. There were two music directors in the movie viz Joseph David and Master Mohammad but the breakup of songs between the two are not known.
Only the audio of this song is available. It is clear though that the song was picturised on Feroz Dastoor himself.
Getting the lyrics right was quite a challenge and I am not satisfied with my quality of lyrics noting. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections in the lyrics wherever applicable.
