“Chaar Aankhen”(1944) was directed by Sushil Majumdar for Bombay Talkies. The movie had Leela Chitnis, Jairaj, ashalata, P F Pithawala, Pal Mahendra, Nand Kishore, Jagannath Arora, Sharifa, Kamta Prasad, Anant, Bachanlal Dixit, Gadadhar Sharma etc in it.
There are eight songs in this movie according to HFGK. Here is the first song from “Chaar Aankhen”(1944) to appear in the blog. HFGK mentions the singer as Tara. On listening to the song, the voice sounds very much like Rajkumari and the uploader of this song on YT too has credited the song to Rajkumari. I find that this singer called Tara has also sung another song in “Bolti Bulbul”(1942). I listened to that song as well (it is not available on YT as yet). She does have a voice similar to Rajkumari, but she is different from Rajkumari, it would seem. This blog has a song from “Mahapooja”(1954) where one of the singers in Tara Baswani. The “Mahapooja”(1954) singer is different from the singer of “Chaar Aankhen”(1944) and she makes her debut in the blog with this song.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

She sounds differently and has more stability than Rajkumari who has more kampan and thekalapan in her voice. That’s the reason she is not my fav.
