PS- She is Shashikala.

Song-Desh ki purkaif rangeen si fizaaon mein kahin(Jugnu)(1947)Singer-Roshanara Begam, Lyrics-M G Adeeb, MD-Feroz Nizami
Lyrics
Desh ki purkaif rangeen si fizaaon mein kahin
desh ki purkaif rangeen si fizaaon mein kahin
desh ki purkaif rangeen si fizaaon mein kahin
naachti gaati mahakti si hawaaon mein kahin
naachti gaati mahakti si hawaaon mein kahin
ek shahzaade ko aayi ek shahzaadi nazar
jisko badhte dekh shahzaadi ne bhi daali nazar
jisko badhte dekh shahzaadi ne bhi daali nazar
naujawaan thhe donon wo
naujawaan thhe donon wo aur dhadkaren unki jawaan
goya kamsim devta ke khel mein thha ?? makaan
saamna hote hi bas ek teer se ghaayal huye
jaise donon ishq ke darbaar me kaayal huye
phir mulaaqkaten badhi aur pyar ne angdayi li
zindagi bhar saath dene ki qasam khaayi gayi
zindagi bhar saath dene ki qasam khaayi gayi
ek din kashti me baithe raaz-e-dil kehte chale
ubhri ubhri shokh lahron per wo yoon gaate chale
ke achaanak chhaaye badal zor ka toofaan uthha
ghir gayi kashti bhanwar mein kaanp unka dil gaya
zor maujon mein hawa ka shor aisa pur-katar(?)
donon thhe sahme ke jaise maut aati ho nazar
donon thhe sahme ke jaise maut aati ho nazar
bemadad majhdhaar me wo khauf mein jakde huye
thhi jawaani ko jawaani is tarah pakde huye
thhi jawaani ko jawaani is tarah pakde huye
aaya ek zaalim thhapeda
kaapa shahjade ka haath
phir gayi paani mein sahzadi
chhuta donon ka sath
haan chhuta donon ka saath
chhaaya aankho me andhera
uspe bijli si giri
toota shahjade ka dil
doobhar hui ab zindagi
umar bhar wo saath dene ki qasam yaad aa gayi
kood kar paani mein usne bhi wahin par jaan di
ee ee ee ee
ae adeeb unka jahaan se mit gaya naam-o-nishan
khatam hoti hai yahaan par do dilon ki daastaan
khatam hoti hai yahaan par do dilon ki daastaan

I dare say she is not Shahikala. She does not look like her. Also she was slimmer those days.

Nitin ji,
I still maintain that the actress is Shashikala.
When the song is uploaded as a video clip, there is bound to be some distortion in appearance. I do not know the technicalities of it but it has some thing to do with aspect ratios of 35 mm film vs, Video film. Look at her hands.

Atulji,
Surprizing that this song was not covered till now !!
The dancer IS Shashikala ONLY. I had seen and even these days seeing this film number of times and Shashkala who is Dilip’s sister repeats this one more time in the film and Dilip comes, gets angry and drags Shashikala from the gathering.
Parth and Nitinbhai, Please belive me and get corrected.

Thanks, Atul ji, for a poignant song.
You may like to make the correction of ‘singer’ in the caption.
