“Shaanti”(1947) was directed by S U Sunny for Firdaus Art Productions, Bombay. The movie had Vijaylaxmi, Jeewan, Afzhal, Latika, Sunalini Devi, Pratima Devi, Sharda, Shabnam, Munees Begam, Mustaf, Ameer, A R Kashmiri, Master Ratan, Sulemaan etc in it.
There were ten songs in this obscure movie that were equally obscure. Two of these songs have been discussed in the past.
Here is the third song from “Shaanti”(1947) to be discussed in the blog. This is a melancholic song which is sung by Parul Ghosh. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by B S Thakur.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
I have not been able to get a few words right in the picturisation of this song. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections wherever applicable.
