“Vishwamitra”(1952) was a mythological movie which was produced by Vasantrao pawar and directed by Baburao painter for Baswant Productions, Bombay. The movie had Sapru, Sheela Naik, Chaube Ji, Vivek, Baanke, Jog, Madhav, Kaale, Shree Bhagwan, Dubey, Kiran Bala, Sudha Bai, Apte etc in it.
This obscure movie had sei equally obscure songs in it. Here is the first song from “Vishwamita”(1952) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle, Manohar lal Khanna is the lyricist. Music composition is by B Laxman.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
With this song, “Vishwamitra”(1952) as well as the music director B Laxman make their respective debuts in the blog.
Song-Neel kamal par dole bhanwra (Vishwamitra)(1952) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Manohar lal Khanna, MD-B Laxman
Lyrics
neel kamal par dole bhanwra
gun gun gun kyaa gaaye ae ae
neel kamal par dole bhanwra
neel kamal par dole bhanwra
gun gun gun kyaa gaaye ae ae
ban titli kyun kali pe naache
aur kali kyun muskaaye ae ae
neel kamal par dole bhanwra
lata vriksh se kyun lipti hai
nadi kise milne ko chali hai
kiske liye vyaakul hai papeeha
piya piya kyun gaaye ae ae
neel kamal par dole bhanwra
chandr bina kyun chakori tadpe ae ae ae
chandr bina kyun chakori tadpe
jal bin meen kyun praan taj de
kaun aag mein jale patanga
jal kar kya sukh paaye ae ae
neel kamal par dole bhanwra
door kshitij par phool khile hain
dharti aur aakaash mile hain
kis’se miloon main birha ki maari
bujh na jaaye jeewan baati
kaun unhen samjhaaye ae ae
neel kamal par dole bhanwra

It is always said she had to sing songs which were rejected by her sister. But full credit to her having done full justice to whatever fell in her lap. In the process she sang practically double the number of songs then her sister in spite of she pulling her leg down.
Every song of her is a gem according to me.
