“Pandit Jee”(1946) was directed by G R Durrani for Rukhsana Pictures, Bombay. This movie had Surekha, Agha Jaan, Suraiyya Zulfi, Ghulam Rasool, Alaknanda, Maya Devi, Mumtaz Begam, Sadiq, Nawaz, Ansari etc in it.
The movie had 8 songs in it that were penned by three lyricists- Tanveer Naqvi, I C Kapoor, Dukhi Amritsari, but the distribution of songs among the singers is not known.
Here is the first song from “Pandit Jee”(1946) to appear in the blog. This song is a duet. Shamshad Begam’s voice can be identified. I am unable to identify the male voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify this voice.
