“Paighaam”(1943) was directed by Surendra Desai for Amar Pictures, Bombay. This social movie had Sadhana Bose, Surendra, Anand Prasad, Anil Kumar, Pratima Devi, Ansari, Sulochana Chatterji, Bhola, Hadi, Khanjar, Preeti Kumar etc in it.
There were eleven songs in the movie which were penned by three lyricists, viz Pt Indra, Safdar Aah and Baalam, but the distribution of songs among the three lyricists in not known.
Nine out of eleven songs were composed by Gyan Dutt and the remaining two were composed by Bulo C Rani.
Here is the first song from “Paighaam”(1943) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Surendra. Music is composed by Bulo C Rani.
As mentioned above, the lyricist of this song is not known.
It is clear that this song, which is the title song of the movie, was picturised on Surendra himself.
