“Dhoop Chhaaon” (1954), not to be confused with “Dhoop Chhaaon” (1935) was produced by M O Suhail and directed by S M Raza for Suhail Art Productions, Bombay. The movie had Bharat Bhushan, Shyama, N. A. Ansari, Mumtaz, Krishna Kumari, Shamim Akhtar, Agha, Maqbool, A Roshan, Ahmad etc in it, with S Nazir in guest appearance.
The movie had nine songs in it that were penned by four lyricists. Two songs from this movie has been discussed in the past.
Here is another song from the movie. This song is a western music inspired song, though the artists behind this song are not generally associated with a song like this. This song is sung by G M Durrani and Shamshad Begam. Jaan Nisaar Akhtar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Aziz Hindi.
Only the audio of this song is available. From the sounds of it, this song appears to be a lively expression of love song picturised on the lead actors, who for this movie must be Bharat Bhushan and Shyama. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
Song-Ajeeb rang hai ajeeb dhang hai (Dhoop Chhaaon)(1954) Singers-G M Durrani, Shamshad Begam, Lyrics-Jaan Nisaar Akhtar, MD-Aziz Hindi
Lyrics
daa daradaradada
taratarata taa taratara
ajeeb rang hai
ajeeb dhang hai
ajeeb rang hai
ajeeb dhang hai
tumhaare pyaar se hamaare ji to tang hai
na koi rang hai
na koi dhang hai
na koi rang hai
na koi dhang hai
tumhaare ishq mein hamaari aql band hai
chalo bahut hamko bana chuke
chalo bahut hamko sata chuke
chalo bahut hamko bana chuke
chalo bahut hamko sata chuke
hamen na chaahiye tumhaara dil
tumhaara dil
hazaar baar to jata chuke
jata chuke
magar janaab par
ho kis tarah asar
aji dimag mein laga hua to jang hai
ajeeb rang hai
ajeeb dhang hai
tumhaare pyaar se hamaare ji to tang hai
kaho to dar par hum pade rahen
kaho to sar ke bal khade rahen
nikal bhi jaaye dam
nahin hai gham
nahin hai gham
ham apni baat par ade rahen
ade rahen
tumhen khabar hai kya
hai ishq kya bala
chhidi huyi yahaan dil o jigar mein jang hai
milaake dil tum to badal gaye
tumhare gam mein ham pighal gaye
tumhaare pyar ka yaqeen kya aa aa
jahaan nazar mili
fisal gaye fisal gaye
kabhi yahaan ho tum
kabhi wahaan ho tum
tumhara dil nahin
kati huyi patang hai
ajeeb rang hai
ajeeb dhang hai
tumhaare pyaar se hamaare ji to tang hai

When I had first heard the song about a week back, I failed to recognise the voice of Shamshad Begum in the first instance. Both the singers seem to have modulated their voices to suit the jazzy composition of music director Aziz Hindi with a classic pop touch.
My guess is that the song may have been picturised on Agha and his partner in the film. This is based on the analogy that songs of Mohammed Rafi (3) and Asha Bhonsle (5) in the film were picturised on the lead actors, viz. Bharat Bhushan and Shyama. And the teasing lyrics suit Agha.

Yes your guess appears logical.
