“Bade Ghar Ki Bahu” (1960) was produced by J S Puri and directed by Kundan Kumar for Life and art, Bombay . The movie had Geeta Bali, Abhi Bhattacharya, Kuldip Kaur, Nagpal, Shammi, Niranjan Sharma, Neeru, Bhagwan Sinha, Chanda Bai, Sheela Vaz etc in it.
The movie, also known as “Bhabhi”, had seven songs in it.
One song from the movie has been covered in the past.
Here is the second song from “Bade Ghar Ki Bahu” (1960) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Tanvir Naqvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Chitragupta.
Only audio of this song is available, but it is certain that this song was picturised on Geeta Bali seeing that Asha Bhonsle was the only female playback singer of this movie and she had sung five songs which could only be for the leading lady of the movie, viz. Geeta Bali in this case.
It is a nice melancholic song to listen to.
