“Mera Munna”(1948) was directed by Vishram Bedekar for Minerva Movieone, Bombay. The movie had Motilal, Nayantara, E Tarapore, Leela Mishra, Seeta Bose, Wazir Mohammad Khan, Anita Sharma, Sadat Ali, Ramesh Sahgal, Hafeeza etc in it.
This obscure “social” movie had seven very obscure songs in it. HFGK is silent about the names of singers of these songs.
One song from the movie has been covered in the blog in 2015. That song was found to contain the voice of Mukesh (along with Lalita Deulkar) and it turned out to be an as yet undiscovered Mukesh song !
Other songs are just as obscure. seeing that their singers are not mentioned in HFGK, some of them may also turn out to be significant discoveries.
Here is the second song from “Mera Munna”(1948) to appear in the blog. This song is a “mother child” song which turns out to contain the voice of Lalita Deulkar. I hope I have identified her voice correctly alongwith the uploader who also mentions this name as the singer.
Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Ramchandra.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
