“Patraani”(1956) was produced by Shankarbhai Bhatt and directed by his younger brother Vijay Bhatt for Prakash Pictures. The movie had Vyjayantimala, Pradeep Kumar, Omprakash, Shashikala, Durga Khote, David, Jeevan etc. in it. The movie was based on a novel by Kanhaiyalal Munshi.

Thanks for presenting this lovely song. I had no chance to see the movie. This movie was released ( probably) in the same year as ‘Basant Bahar’.
Regrettably this album did not earn the same popularity as ‘Basant Bahar’, in spite of being classy.
May be because it is more in the pure Classical mold, where as ‘Basant Bahar’ had songs which could be related to for larger cross section.
