‘Son Of Hatimtai’ (1965) was directed by Dharam Kumar for Sunrise Films, Bombay. The movie had Randhawa, Malika, Mumtaz, Maruti, Sherry, Jillani, Nazir Kashmiri, Roopesh Kumar, Samson, Thakur, Shashimala, Shamim, Kishori, Jaani Babu etc in it.
This by now forgotten movie had six obscure songs in it.
One song has been covered so far. Here is the second song from ‘Son Of Hatimtai’ (1965) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Suman Kalyanpur. Lyricist of this song is not known. Music is composed by Bulo C Rani.
Poor quality video of song is available. The picturisation shows that this song is picturised as a dance song on Mumtaz. Incidentally, the first song covered earlier was a dance song that was picturised on Malika, sister of Mumtaz.
The song appears to be in two parts. The first part is the happy version, where we can see Mumtaz dancing in the presence of Radhawa, Maruti and an actress who seems familiar but I am not able to name her. I request other knowledgeable readers and friends to help identify her. The second part is the sad version, in which apparently Randhawa is going away, and Mumtaz is singing the last verse, at a slower pace.
