“Manzil Manzil” was directed by Nasir Hussain for his home productions ‘Nasir Hussain Films, Bombay’. Nasir Hussain was also the producer of this movie, and he wrote dialogues of this movie too. This movie has Dimple Kapadia, Sunny Deol, Prem Chopra, Danny Dengzongpa, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tariq, T.P. Jain, Rinku Jaiswal, Sajida, Surendra Pal, Raj Bibra, Abid Sayyad, V. Malhotra, Ahmed Khan, Moijuddin, Meghdoot, D.S. Rana, K.K. Raj, Ramesh Goyal, Naveen Kumar, Dolly Jena, Anuradha, Leena Das, Jazbel, Nihal Khan, Hemendra Sinha, Deval Raiji and others. Actor Feroz made his debut in this movie. Asha Parekh and Ravindra Kapoor make a friendly appearance in this movie. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 26.09.1984.

All songs for this movie ‘Manzil Manzil-1984’ were penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri and music was composed by R.D. Burman.
Today 1st October 2024 is the 105th birth anniversary of Lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri. He was born on 01st October 1919 and he passed away on 24th May 2000. Majrooh Saab as he was popularly known as had a long successful stint in Hindi Film Industry beginning from 1946 till his last years. He was the recipient of many awards and accolades. He was honoured with the highest award for Cinema i.e. the ‘Dadasaheb Phalke’ award in the year 1993.
As mentioned in the statistics on this blog he has written over two thousand songs (2053) for Hindi films. So far 1211 songs out of these 2053 songs have been covered on the blog.
From the above figures we can see that over eight hundred songs written by Majrooh Saab are yet to be represented here. So, I had a good number of songs to choose from. I have selected this song sung by Chandrashekhar Gadgil for his distinct voice that was heard in Hindi movies on rare occasions.
Only audio of this song is available. I have not yet watched this movie however I guess that this song may not have been included in the movie. I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this song and its picturisation please.
Let us Listen to this wonderful bhajan penned by Majrooh Saab and composed by Rahul Dev Burman. This bhajan sung by Chandrashekhar Gadgil has a calming effect on the nerves of the listeners.
