“Nainaa”(1973) was planned several years ago with Rajshree in the lead role. But then Rajshree decided to settle down in USA and left Bollywood, leaving her producers in lurch, without even bothering to give them any notice and without returning the signing amount to the producers.
The producers, left with no other option, killed the character played by Rajshree and brought in the character played by Mausami Chatterjee. The movie was finally released in 1973, delayed by several years.
“Nainaa”(1973) was directed by Kanak Mishra for Shakti International and is directed by Kanak Mishra. The star cast is mentioned as Shashi Kapoor, Moushumi Chatterjee, Rajshri, Rehman, Akashdeep, Devid, Padma Khanna, Sanjana, Shaukat Kaifi, Praveen Pal, Madhumati, Jagirdar, Nagar, Samson, Firoza, Tirath, Paulson, Dhanraj, Sitaram, Krishan Kumar, Radheshyam, Jugnu, Darpan (new discovery), Sidharth (new discovery), Farida Jalal (special appearance), AK Hangal (Special appearance). Even Rajshree is listed as playing a special appearance role in the movie.

Only audio of the song is available. In case this song was picturised, it had to be on Shashi Kapoor, seeing that the other two songs in the movie sung by Rafi were picturised on Shashi Kapoor. Shashi Kapoor in fact got another song to lip sync in Kishore Kumar’s voice as well.
