“Aarzoo”(1944) was a social movie which was directed by R N Vaidhya and M Issa for I B pictures, Calcutta. This movie had Dhiraj Bhattacharya, Panna, Pramod Ganguly, S E Karim, Renuka Roy, Poornima, Jaani Sahab, Fazal Gandhari, Krisha, Shanta etc in it.
This obscure movie had eight obscure songs in it. HFGK does not mention names of singers for any of the songs.
One song from “Aarzoo”(1944) has been covered in the past.
Here is the second song from the movie to appear in the blog. Though singers of songs are not mentioned in HFGK, the uploader of the song mentions Jagmohan Sursagar as the singer of the song.
This song, a ghazal, sounds like a gem that needs to be considered as a timeless classic instead of lying forgotten.
Khwaja Kidwai is the lyricist of this superbly penned ghazal. Music is composed by Subal Dasgupta.
