Blog Day :

6181 Post No. : 19085

Hullo Atuldom

Wishing our guiding force; ex-Ranchiwala now-Bhopali Gaanewala, usually addressed as Atulji by the followers of ASAD (acronym for atulsongaday) A Very Happy Birthday. I thank him (as always) for providing us this platform where “birds of a feather flock together”. What started as a place for one post (not necessarily one song though, as some posts contain all versions of a song) a day had become a multi-post per day blog after the initial few months of its journey. May today and all of your days be creative and innovative.

I was just looking up posts on the blog, for the date 20th June 2015 and found that that day had the following three posts.

Song Remarks
murlee teree paaayal meree(Sawaan 1959) YIPPEE post
Man ke taaar hilaa jaa (Prem nagar 1940) 11th song of the movie out of 13 songs
Saaqee kee har nigaah pe baal khaa ke pee gayaa (NFS)

Of the three posts one was a NFS, one has been yyiippeeeed & two songs of ‘Prem Nagar’ (1940) are yet to be found. Atuldom had wished Atulji in the comments to the (multi version) song of ‘Prem Nagar’.

Last year, a day prior to Atulji’s birthday I discovered that 19th June is the birth date of the good-looking & talented actor Raj Kiran.

In the ever-shifting landscape of Bollywood, some names quietly slip through the cracks, leaving behind haunting echoes of what could have been. Raj Kiran is one such name—a gifted actor whose sensitive performances in films like “Arth” and “Karz” left an indelible mark, yet whose sudden disappearance from the public eye turned him into a tragic mystery. On his 76th birthday, the industry still wonders: where is Raj Kiran?

Raj Kiran was born in Mumbai in a Sindhi family. He made his debut opposite Sarika in B.R. Ishara’s “Kaagaz Ki Naao” in 1975. His career spanned for nearly 25 years (till 1999 when his last film ‘Chudail No.1’ released.) He was seen in roles of various shades playing leading as well as supporting roles. He was often paired opposite Shoma Anand in family dramas playing a husband who gets misguided by his wife. There were many films in the 1980s which had Raj Kiran playing strong negative characters too when suddenly his career started going downhill. Additionally, he went through family problems causing depression etc. He is said to have been undergoing treatment somewhere in the USA after disappearing from the film industry. Hope is fine wherever he is.

Since I spoke of Raj Kiran’s pairing with Shoma Anand I am presenting a song from one of the earliest films the two acted together in Patita” (1980) was a movie that had music by Bappi Lahiri. He had Lata Mangeshkar sing some melodious songs which are in the “not so easily recalled” category.

Songs like ‘baithe baithe aaj aayi mere mann mein’; “sunte sunte yeh meri kahaani” which were filmed on a very young Shoma Anand. The other actors in the film were Mithun Chakravarty, Raj Kiran, Vikram, Seema Deo, Ramesh Deo, Madan Puri, Sulochana etc. The movie was directed by I. V. Sasi who remade it from his own Malayalam film & Mukul Roy was the producer. Anand Bakshi was the lyricist for the film.

The film had 5 songs of which 3 were Lata Mangeshkar solos & 2 Kishore Kumar solos. One Of Kishore Kumar solos is already on the blog with a post by Avinashji on 4 August 2018:-

Baithhe baithhe aaj aayee mere man mein was the second song of the movie to appear on the blog.

Today, we shall have the second Kishore Kumar solo. The song seems to be happening as Raj Kiran is realising that he is in love with the naive nymphet that Shoma Anand was shown to be in the film.

Once again Wishing you A very Happy Birthday Atulji from the Peevesie clan.EmojiEmoji

Song-Honthon pe jaan chalee aayegee (Patita)(1980) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Bappi Lahiri

Lyrics

hmm aa haa ha haaa
ha ha ha ha
hmm hmm hmm hmm
honthon pe jaan chalee aayegee
nainon mein neend naheen aayegee
honthon pe jaan chalee aayegee
nainon mein neend naheen aayegee
raina naheen een
ye naagin hai
aisa lage ae ae
hum donon ko ye ek saath dus jaayegee
honthon pe jaan chalee aayegee
nainon mein neend naheen aayegee
raina naheen een
ye naagin hai
aisa lage ae ae
hum donon ko ye ek saath dus jaayegee

teree aadhee jaagee aadhee soyee soyee aankhen
aise palkon ke jharokhon se jhaanke
teree aadhee jaagee aadhee soyee soyee aankhen
aise palkon ke jharokhon se jhaanke
jaise meree ee tu dulhan hai
aisa hai to mere sapnon kee soonee sej saj jaayegee
honthon pe jaan chalee aayegee
nainon mein neend naheen aayegee

koi dooja naheen
khaalee ghar lagta hai
khaalee ghar mein bhee thhoda dar lagta hai
koi dooja naheen
khaalee ghar lagta hai
khaalee ghar mein bhee thhoda dar lagta hai
duniya dilon kee dushman hai
aise humen kisee ne jo dekha to kahaanee ban jaayegee
honthon pe jaan chalee aayegee
nainon mein neend naheen aayegee

tujhe is nainon waalee dolee mein bithha doon
ang chhoo ke kalee se main phool bana doon
tujhe is nainon waalee dolee mein bithha doon
ang chhoo ke kalee se main phool bana doon
yeh lat magar ek uljhan hai
tu hee bata aa
ise meree preet bhala kaise suljhaayegee
honthon pe jaan chalee aayegee
nainon mein neend naheen aayegee
raina naheen een ye naagin hai
aisa lage ae
hum donon ko ye ek sath dus jaayegee
