Mukesh and his Composers – 39
Coming to the next part of this series, I take up a solo song by Mukesh from the film Parmatma released in 1978. It was directed by Chand and had Shatrughan Sinha, Rekha, Pradeep Kumar, Aruna Irani, Ranjeet, Dev Kumar, Jagdish Raj, Chand Usmani, Helen and others in the cast. The music was by K. Babuji and lyrics by Indeevar.
Again, not much information is available on the music director K. Babuji. It appears Mukesh has sung only one song for him.
Myswar website credits a total of three films under the composition of K. Babuji and here are the details. One song from this film has been covered by our Sadanand Kamath ji with extensive storyline in the writeup.
The full film is available on the net.
But it appears that today’s Mukesh song was excluded from the film in the final cut. I could not trace the video of the song in the film. It is monsoon season, and I saw the film by leaping like a frog. Twice. 😊 If any reader has information on the picturization of this song, kindly bring it to the information of the blog.
My hunch is that it could be picturized on Pradeep Kumar.
The song starts with the words “Satyam Shivam Sundaram”. It also has the words “Pal do pal kaa saath” in its lyrics.
Incidentally, the above highlighted words were separate films released in 1978 only.
In MGK-II, all these three songs are covered successively since the starting letters are also close to each other.
Since I have nothing to write on the composer, I am compelled to provide such useless trivia. 😊
The song is again a gem by Mukesh with his usual midas touch.
