“Birju Ustaad”(1964) was a stunt movie which was directed by Manu Desai for Movie Miracles, Bombay. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtaar, Chandrashekhar, Vijaya Chaudhaary, Mukri, Uma Dutt, Tuntun, Ridku, Minu Mumtaz, Jyoti Desai, Nazir Kashmiri, Kamjal Mohan, Fazal, Kareem, Harun, Ajit, Shamina, Eruc Tarapore, Farooque, Prem Sagar, T N Charlie, Jerry Mason, Apopa Khaire, Jeet Bala, Sunanda, Rafia Sultana etc in it.
“Birju Ustaad”(1964) had six songs in it. As many as seven singers were used in these six songs.
Two songs from the movie have been covered in the blog.
Here is the third song from the movie to appear in the blog. This song is a duet which is sung by Manna Dey and Lata Mangeshkar. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.
Only audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable reaaders to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
This song had the misfortune of being part of a B grade flop movie otherwise this song had the potential of becoming a better known song. Unfortunately this song ended up becoming an obscure and forgotten song.
