“Ghar Ki Bahu”(1947) was directed by Narayan Rao and G K Devre for Kohinoor pictures, Bombay. This “social” movie had Paro Devi, Umakant, Ghulam Mohammad (actor), Pandey, Mehar Sultana, Manohar Ghatwai, Dhuliya, Babu Raje, Geeta Sardesai etc in it.
“Ghar Ki Bahu”(1947) had eight extremely obscure songs in it. Two songs had become available with time and they have been covered in the blog.
Another song from the movie has become available and no music lovers seem to have taken notice of this song despite its availability.
Here is this extremely rare song from “Ghar Ki Bahu”(1947). The song is sung by Kalyani Das. Pt Tarash is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shanti Kumar Desai.

Atul ji,
The voice in the song does not sound like that of Kalyani Das who had almost similar voice qualities like that of Utpala Sen, Suporva Sarkar, Ila Ghosh etc. Moreover, Kalyani Das sang mainly in films produced in Kolkata. She did sing in a couple of films made in Mumbai but those were under the music direction of Kamal Dasgupta. Kalyani Mitra started playback singing in Hindi films only in the 1970s.
There was another actor-singer/playback singer, Kalyani Bai who was active in 1940s. Even the voice in the song does not sound that of her.
My hunch is that the song may have been rendered by Paro Devi after I listened to another song from the film in her voice.
