————————————————————————

The song in this post is from the movie ‘Saagar Tarang-1950’. This movie had made its debut on the blog on 06.02.2014. While presenting the first song from this movie our editor Atul jee had mentioned the following.

“Saagar Tarang” (1950) is a movie about which hardly any information is available, other than the fact that Geeta Dutt has sung a few songs in this movie and these songs are available on line. Other than that, hardly any information is available on this movie.

Today we are adding a little more information about this movie, but before that here is what our in-house encyclopaedia Shree Arunkumar jee added about this movie in his comments on the first song from this movie on the blog.

Film Sagar Tarang was made in the late 40s, but was never released. It was a film made by Azmi pictures and the music was by PAYAMI. There were 4 songs of this film issued on records, 2 each by Geeta and Shyam Kumar.
PAYAMI was a small time composer who gave music to Yeh hai duniya-1948(with Shamu), Begunah-1949(with Haribhai), Damaad-1951(with Indravadan Bhatt and Ram Panjwani) and ‘Bhedi Lutera-1955’ (with Jafar Khursheed).

Today I am presenting the second song from this movie. Geet Kosh Vol-II mentions this movie as an un-released movie (in Appendix-I) and lists four songs for this movie, and leaving space for possibility of more songs for this movie. Lyricist’s name for three songs is mentioned as Balam Pardesi.

Let us now listen to the second song from this movie which is again from the genre of sad songs or pathos. Only audio of this song is available. Singer for the today’s song is Shyam Kumar and music is composed by Payami. Balam Pardesi is the lyricist.

Lyrics

mere armaanon kee duniyaa
dard se aabaad hai
mere armaanon kee duniyaa
dard se aabaad hai
aankh mein aen aansoo hai
lab par
naalaa o fariyaad hai
aankh mein aen aansoo hai
lab par
naalaa o fariyaad hai

muddaton ke baad aayee
muddaton ke baad aayee
thhee chaman mein phir bahaar
muddaton ke baad aayee
thhee chaman mein phir bahaar
kya khabar thhee ee apnee qismat
hee sitam e-jaaz hai
mere armaanon kee duniyaa
dard se aabaad hai ae

hasratein aen ban ban ke meree
hasratein aen ban ban ke meree
aarzooein mit gayeen
hasratein ban ban ke meree
aarzooein mit gayeen een
gardish e qismat ye kaisaa
zulm hai
bedaar hai ae
mere armaanon kee duniyaa
dard se aabaad hai

dil miley ae gham muskuraayaa
dil miley ae gham muskuraayaa
wo bichhad kar rah gaye ae ae
dil miley ae gham muskuraayaa
wo bichhad kar rah gaye ae ae
apne afsaane kaa bas
itnaa hee dukhdaa yaad hai
mere armaanon kee duniyaa
dard se aabaad hai
mere armaanon kee duniyaa
dard se aabaad hai
