“Meera Ka Mohan-1991″ was directed by K. Ravi Shankar for Super Cassette Industries, Bombay. It was produced by Gulshan Kumar. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 23.12.1991. The cast of this movie has Avinash Wadhawan, Ashwini Bhave, debutant actor Deepak Saraf, with Ashok Saraf and Rakesh Bedi. They were supported by Raj Hans, Brando Bakshi, Kunika, Vikas Anand, Ghanshyam, Leena Kamath, Sunanda, A.K. Hangal, Alok Nath and Pran. Screenplay of this movie was written by Gyan Dev Agnihotri, who also wrote the dialogues for this movie with Soulat Hussain. Editing of this movie was done by the famous editors’ duo Waman Bhonsle and Gurudutt Shirali.
Since the music director of this movie Arun Paudwal passed away during the making of this movie and before it’s release, this movie was dedicated to his memory.
This movie has ten songs (including one two part song) which were all written by Indeevar. The Hindi Filmography (1981-2000) mentions the name of Sameer as a lyricist for this movie, however the title of this movie and its vinyl of LP records doesn’t mention the name of Sameer as lyricist. Music for this movie was composed by Arun Paudwal who the husband of singer Anuradha Paudwal. This was his first movie as an Independent Music Composer. He and Anil Mohile had been giving music to many Marathi movies as the composer duo Anil-Arun. As Anil-Arun They had composed music for two Hindi movies i.e. ‘Aaj Ka Ye Ghar-1976’ and ‘Bhagwaan Samaaye Sansaar Mein-1976’.
Playback singers for the “Meera Ka Mohan-1991″ are Anuradha Paudwal, Mohd Aziz, Kumar Shanu, Suresh Wadkar, Udit Narayan and Yesudas. The title of this movie doesn’t mention the name of Yesudas in it. However the LP records and CDs included his name with song that we are going to listen today. I guess that this song was not included in the movie and therefore its videos are not available.
I have not yet watched this movie. I recollect that couple of songs from this movie had become very much popular during its time. However I have selected a lesser heard and lesser known song from this movie in this article. This song is in the voice of Yesudas and Anuradha Paudwal.
Today 27th October 2025 is the seventy-second birthday of singer Anuradha Paudwal(born on 27th October 1954). On this occasion we will be listening to this song sung by her.
She made her debut in Hindi Films with the song of title song of ‘Laila Majnu’ in the year 1976. Before that she got to sing a ‘Shlok’ in the movie ‘Abhimaan-1973’ under S.D. Burman. Her husband Arun Paudwal assisted S.D. Burman for many years. Later she went on to sing many songs in the eighties. she rose to prominence with the songs of the movie ‘Hero’ in 1983 . 1983 to 1992 were the best years for her where her voice featured prominently in many movies of those years.
She has been honored with many accolades and awards. In the year 1991 her voice featured in seven songs in the annual list of Binaca Geetmala-1991. One song from “Meera Ka Mohan-1991″, the movie under discussion in this post, namely ‘toone preet jo mujhse jodee’ was one of those songs.

I had bought a cassette of this movie and loved most of the songs. The cassette contained songs from another movie – Bahar Aane Tak. It was released by T-Series.

Yes Satyajit jee, this album has some good songs. One duet from ‘Bahar Aane Tak’ became very popular then and is a nice song.
