The year 2025 is ending soon, and a quarter of the 21st century is over. This year has gone by very fast for me, with so much travel. Too much travel in fact that I have lost count. 6 weddings in close family and only one of them in greater Mumbai, which is a record.Mullah ki daud masjid tak, so we travel to Belgaum every time. Add to that visit to UK, plus a visit to Nanded. Another visit to Nanded is due before the end of the year. A 2 day trip to the good old Bangalore. See I forgot the Pune visit for yet another wedding in this melee. Throw in a combining of holiday/relaxation stops to Lonavla and Mahabaleshwar, here you have a full calender.
Not an excuse for neglecting to write posts for the blog. I have been slow since 2023. Once I lose touch, then it becomes difficult of go back to the earlier groove. 2025 has been eventful year and brought many changes and losses. Gains too and still better to come in the remaining time. Hopefully and fingers crossed.
The song I am presenting here is a duet song of Mohammed Rafi Sahab with Asha Bhonsle, the lyrics ready, and sitting in one of my files in the lap-top, for may be 2-3 years. I look for songs for various occasions, write the lyrics and save the file somewhere, look for more options, finally settle for another. So, this song post never written till now.
This is the title song of 1955 film “Madhur Milan” composed by Bulo C Rani. Lyricist here is Shyam Hindi. A sweet romantic song, with a different start. The following 7 songs out of the 12 are posted in the blog, this is the 8th.
| Song | Lyricist | Singer(s) | Date of post |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thukra ke hamen yoon na jaa | Jaan Nisaar Akhtar | Lata Mangeshkar | 7 August 2011 |
| Kabhi aansoo bahaate hai kabhi fariyaad karte hain | S H Bihari | Talat Mehmood, Mohammad Rafi | 9 October 2011 |
| Tum kahaan ho tum kahaan ho | Nigar | Lata Mangeshkar | 16 October 2011 |
| Ye chaandni ye hawaa ye samaa bahaaron ka | Jaan Nisaar Akhtar | Bulo C Rani | 25 May 2017 |
| Dil pyaar ki mehfil hai dildaar chale aao | Raja Mehdi Ali Khan | Lata Mangeshkar | 18 December 2017 |
| Hai door bahut door | S H Bihari | Mohammad Rafi | 25 February 2020 |
| Joru ne nikaala hai deewaala mere ghar ka | Raja Mehdi Ali Khan | Mohammad Rafi, A R Oza, Geeta Dutt | 24 December 2022 |
This is a very colourful musical score, from what I see in the list of posted and unposted songs. A whole lot of lyricist are there in this film. Looks like Bulo C Rani liked to work with multiple poets, one of them is Nigar Sultana, famed “Bahar” of Mughal-e-azam.
I have decided now, to keep a pace of weekly posts at least. I have been missing the discovery of gems, and being creative with them 😊.

I was searching for a Lata-Rafi duet in the table in the post.
No wonder I could not find it as it is from an another film.
Incidentally, it is a title song from that film and also contains the title of this film.
What a sweet song it is. Here is the link.

All Lata-Rafi duets are posted in the blog, so except one. If you find any such duet, please share with me. A small snippet or two maybe we can find.
Asfor tthe title songs, this particular title went out of fashion after this film. There are only two movies of this title “madhur Milan”, 1938 & 1955. Which is quite surprising. Nice reminder to the SJ song. I would have confused it to Husnlal- bhagatram duets.
