“Jhoothhi Kasmein”(1948) was directed by H S Rawail for Rawal Productions, Calcutta. Or was it Rawail Productions which is misspelt as Rawal Productions in HFGK ? This obscure movie had Ramola, Robin Majumdar, Heeralal, Rooplekha, Sundar, Ridku, Iftikhar, Prem Kumari, Manorama etc in it.
“Jhoothhi Kasmein”(1948) had 11 songs in it. There were two lyricists in the movie namely Jameel Mazhari and GA Chisti but the distribution of the workload of the two is not given so it is not known who penned which songs. Music was composed by G A Chishti.
One rare song from this movie has been covered in the past. Here is another obscure song from the movie. It is sung by Dhananjay Bhattacharya.
The audio is not very clear so I have not been able to get many words in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help correct the lyrics by suggesting correct words/ filling up the gaps wherever applicable. It is a melancholic song par excellence as faar as I can make out going by the lyrics that I can decipher. This song is a forgotten gem that sounds like a wonderful discovery from the distant paast of HFM. So sad that the lyricist of this wonderful song, who is the real star of this song is not identified.
Only audio of the song is available so it is difficult to guess who lip synced this song on screen.
