#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #
————————————————————————
The song in this post is from the movie ‘Takht Aur Talwar-1970’ under the banner of ‘Kanchanganga Films, Bombay’. No information is available about the director and cast of this movie in Geet Kosh Vol-IV (1961-1970). However our senior Shree Sadanand jee has, while commenting on the first song post from this movie on the blog, added that this movie was directed by J. Anand. He has also provided the information that the producer of this movie was Champ Shibhai and Padma Kumar.
The first song from this movie ‘Takht Aur Talwar-1970’ was presented on the blog on 15.11.2018. This song is ‘mere saamne na aanaa’. In this post Shree Sudhir jee has mentioned the following about this movie and its songs.
Another very obscure and unfamiliar film; and another wonderful set of songs that probably have not seen the light of the day. The experience keeps reiterating itself.
The film is ‘Takht Aur Talwar’ from 1970. And the song – an exuberant challenge, rendered by Suman Kalyanpur. The production company is titled as Kanchanganga Films, Bombay. And practically no other information available, as far as the producer, director and the star cast is concerned.Five songs are listed for this film, with indication that there may be more. The music director is Avinash Vyas. Of the five songs listed, three are solo songs sung by Suman Kalyanpur and one is a solo by Asha Bhonsle. The fifth song is a Qawwaalee in the voice of Krishna Kalle and Mahendra Kapoor. The Qawwaalee does not have a gramophone record no. listed, and so possibly it is still in the untraceable domain. The rest of the four songs are very much available. I present today, one of the solos by Suman Kalyanpur.
There are two songwriters listed for this film – Madan Bharti and Shamim Jaipuri, both having penned two songs each. This song is from the pen of Madan Bharti.
While commenting on the post dear Sadanand jee has also mentioned that the above song seems to be a song picturised on actress Helen. This song also gives the same feeling to me. Asha Bhonsle is the singer Madan Bharti is the lyricist. Music is composed by Avinash Vyas.
Let us now listen to this song.
