“Grihlaxmi”(1959) was produced and directed by Raman V Desai for Bombay Movietone, Bombay. The movie had Shahu Modak, Pandhari Bai, Lalita Pawar, Kumari Nazar, Rooplaxmi, Miss Kala, Indira Bansal, Ramavtaar, Raj, Umakant, Pravin Paul, Devendra, Suryakant Shukla, Polson, Bhairav, Vipin Gupta etc in it.
This movie had nine songs in it. Two of these songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the third song from “Grihlaxmi”(1959) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Bharat Vyas is the lyricist. Music is composed by Avinash Vyas. This song is a prayer song where a lady is asking God to forgive wrongdoers. So in a way she is acting like a lawyer defending wrongdoers in the court of the Almighty. She pleads that nothing can happen without the wishes of the Almighty so if someone is indulging in wrongdoing then that must be happening with the tacit approval of the Almighty. 🙂
