Twenty Thousand Song Posts!
We have all reached the magical milestone that we have been eagerly waiting for the last few months. This is a mind-blowing milestone, worth being appreciated and celebrated with pride and accomplishment.
Hearty Congratulations to all involved.
The wait is over, but the march continues for there are new frontiers and landmarks to be achieved. The troupe of music enthusiasts are unwavering in their efforts and roles. Personal, professional and retired life notwithstanding, the contributors in terms of guest-writers, lyrics contributors, comment writers, visitors etc. continue to add, enrich and strengthen the basic virtues of the blog.
For better appreciation by the readers, here are some figures and statistics. Please note that these figures are as on 12 March 2026 and will keep on increasing as days pass by.

In fact, quite a few figures in the above table will be history on the blog by the time this post appears. Such is the dynamic nature of this blog.
Very few blogs in the world can boast of such records, perseverance and uninterrupted journey. I along with all readers wish and pray for the continued success and luck for the blog.
And then there is our fearless leader Atul ji, the fulcrum of all activities on the blog.
It is one thing to write a post, send lyrics, make a comment on the blog etc. But it is an altogether different ball game to check, assign, assimilate, integrate, post and maintain the blog. It is nothing short of a herculean task and he has been doing it every single day since the inception of the blog in July 2008. Kudos to his gigantic efforts and we will all remain indebted to him for not only creating this platform but also giving open opportunities for like-minded people to join, contribute and participate in this great musical journey.
For self, it has been a very satisfactory association. One that has kept my mind and interest in HFM active and captivated. I came across the blog in late 2012 and started contributing posts only two years later. I have 120 posts on the blog with a paltry average of less than a post a month. But for the career and other personal interests, the figure should have been much higher.
Readers are well aware that bulk of my contribution on the blog has been on singer Mukesh and will continue to be so for another couple of years as his unposted songs on the blog dwindle. The work pending is to post remaining available songs and at the same time renew efforts to trace elusive rare songs not in public domain.
Apart from Mukesh songs, I have also contributed 20 odd posts mainly providing analytical details of artists which consumes lot of time and energy in searching various sources. But then there is a sense of satisfaction and achievement when the efforts appear as a post on the blog.
Coming to today’s song, I zeroed in on this beautiful Talat Mahmood NFS which I happened to hear after a long time. In fact, the song is so familiar to me that upon checking on the blog I had to knock on the doors of Atul ji to reconfirm that the song really remains unposted so far.
The lyrics are from Sajjan and the NFS has been tuned by V. Balsara.
I once again congratulate and thank all associated with the blog for the wonderful achievement of 20,000 songs.
Here is the NFS (geet) by Talat Mahmood saab in his much-famed velvet voice.

Lyrics
Chupchaap
chupchaap akele chhup chhup ke
main geet kisee ke gaata hoon
geet kisee ke gaata hoon
dil ke zakhmon ko chheel chheel main
apna jee bahlaata hoon
apna jee bahlaata hoon
na bhoola hoon na bhooloongaa
na bhoola hoon na bhooloongaa
wo din jo sab mein aaj bane
jo aaj roothh kar bhool gaye
kal tak wo saathhee thhey apne
apne begaane bante kyun
jag se ye bhed chhupaata hoon
apna jee bahlaata hoon
chupchaap akele chhup chhup ke
main geet kisee ke gaata hoon
geet kisee ke gaata hoon
zakhmee dil ka ye daawaa hai
zakhmee dil ka ye daawaa hai
badnaam na hoga pyaar tera
ek aah na niklegee munh se
ab jalne do sansaar mera
bekaaboo aag bujhaane ko
main nainan neer bahaata hoon
apna jee bahlaata hoon
chupchaap akele chhup chhup ke
main geet kisee ke gaata hoon
apna jee bahlaata hoon
main geet kisee ke gaata hoon
main apna jee bahlaata hoon
