Kamsune/Unsune songs of Asha Bhosle – 98
This is a rare song, again filmed as a cabaret/club song – “Kal Ki Na Soch” is sung by Asha Bhosle. It is penned by Rajinder Krishan and composed by Ghanshyam.
“Kunwara Badan” (1973) was directed by Vimal Tiwari for Tulsi Films, Bombay. This “social” movie had Rakesh Pandey, Madhu Chanda, Suresh Chatwal, Aashoo, Paintal, Helen, Sudhir Desai, Mushtaq Merchant, Surendranath, Aparna Chaudhary, etc in it.
The movie had four songs in it and only one song is presented here. So this then becomes the second song on the blog.
“Kunwara Badan” seems to be a social drama centered on love, morality, and the consequences of relationships outside marriage. Like many early-1970s Hindi films, it deals with romantic complications, social stigma, and emotional conflict, especially involving a woman’s honour and societal expectations.
Story (whatever I remember vaguely):
The film revolves around a young woman (played by Madhu Chanda) whose life becomes complicated after a romantic relationship leads to emotional or social turmoil. Themes typically associated with such titles suggest:
A love affair that does not culminate in marriage, leading to distress or dishonour.
Conflict between personal desires and societal norms, especially regarding chastity and reputation.
Male characters (such as those played by Rakesh Pandey and Suresh Chatwal) contributing to either betrayal, redemption, or emotional struggle.
The narrative likely progresses through melodrama, sacrifice, and eventual moral resolution, which was a hallmark of such films.
It was a hugely forgettable film which had four superb songs. The songs, like the film, are equally rare or rarely heard.
Helen lip syncs and performs the song while we can see the hero Rakesh Pandey, Suresh Chatwal.
