#Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Qawwalis – Part-2 – Post-10)

Title of this post suggests that the song with this post is a ‘Qawwali’ song. It is not a popular or block-buster qawwali, but a lesser known and lesser heard song which you can sometimes get to listen to on Vividh Bharati (AIR). This song is from the ‘1978’ movie ‘Daada’. It was mentioned by me earlier while presenting another song from this movie that I have vague memories of watching this movie with my parents and younger brothers. I didn’t remember this movie much now except for a few of its songs. Our favourite songs those days were ‘gaddi jaandi hai chhalaangaa maar di’ and ‘allah karam karna maula tu reham karna’. I remember that I didn’t like this song ‘dil ke tukde tukde karke’ and I found it very irritating to listen to on radio or on loudspeakers. However, this song earned ‘Filmfare’ award of ‘Best Male Playback Singer for Yesudas and it was number ten in the annual list of ‘Binaca Geetmala of 1979’. The two most well-known songs from this movie were ‘dil ke tukde tukde karke muskuraa ke chal diye’ and ‘allah karam karna maula tu reham karna’ which have already been posted on the blog.

“Daadaa-1978” was directed by Jugal Kishore for ‘Jugal Productions Combine, Bombay’. Jugal Kishore was also the producer of this movie. It had Vinod Mehra, Bindiya Goswami, Shashi Puri, Madhu Malini, Amjad Khan, Indrani Mukherjee, Jayshree T., Jeevan, Seema Deo, Ramesh Deo, Jagdeep, Rajendra Nath, Raza Murad, Satyen Kappu, Vijaya Choudhary, Mohan Choti, Maruti, Mohan Shery, Sheikh, Baby Pallavi, Coka Cola, Ramavatar, Shyam Kumar, Ratan Gaurang, Manmauji and many others. Story of this movie was written by Dr Hari Zutshi and screenplay was written by Tejnath Zar and Aryan. Tejnath Zar also wrote the dialogues for this movie. Editing of this movie was done by Y.G. Chavan. This movie had five songs- all written by five different lyricist viz. Asad Bhopali, Ravindra Jain, Kulwant Jani, Mahendra Dehalvi, and Gauhar Kanpuri. Music for this movie was composed by Usha Khanna.
Mohd Rafi, Yesudas, Shailendra Singh, Hemlata, Dilraj Kaur, and Suman Kalyanpur had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

‘Daada-1978’ was a ‘surprise hit’ when it was released. The title-role played by Amjad Khan was appreciated and the role went down well with the audience. Amjad Khan won the ‘Filmfare award’ for this movie in the category of ‘Best Supporting actor’. Other actors in this movie like Vinod Mehra, Bindiya Goswami, Shashi Puri, Indrani Mukherjee Jeevan, Ramesh Deo, Raza Murad Jagdeep and Baby Pallavi etc too contributed to the success of this movie. Given the performances of Amjad Khan and other supporting cast including the perfect blend of other ‘ingredients’ like the story, presentation of it on screen and catchy music this movie succeeded in entertaining the audience. A perfect ‘blend’ of action, romance, friendship, and entertainment made this movie a ‘surprise hit’. As per IMDB this movie ranked on number fifteen among the highest grossing Hindi movies of ‘1979’.

Out of the five songs from this movie three songs have already been posted on the blog. Today’s song is the fourth song from this movie to appear on the blog.

As mentioned it is a ‘rocking qawwali’ sung by Mohd Rafi and Shailendra Singh. Lyrics are by Asad Bhopali and music is composed by Usha Khanna.

Overall ‘Daada-1978’ has good hummable songs and it was a good musical album with variety of compositions. Video of the song is not available. I am unable to recollect the picturisation of this song on screen. It seems that this song is deleted from the online version of this movie.

Enjoy this entertaining ‘Qawwali’ and wait for the ‘Yippeeee’ moment of this movie on the blog, to be coming soon. 🙂

Lyrics

bemurrawat tumhen samjhenge
zamaanewaale ae
hamse phero naa nazar
dil ko churaanewaale

aaye bhi ho to
khinche baithhe ho
khanjar ki tarah
taake kat’te rahen
seene se lagaanewaale ae

parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke
parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke
allaah main sadke jaaun
aisi nazar ke
allaah main sadke jaaun
aisi nazar ke
kyunke

parde mein
parde mein
parde mein
parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke
parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke ae

parde pe pardaa
chilman pe chilman
jaise chhupi ho
ghoonghat mein dulhan
hey ae
parde pe pardaa
chilman pe chilman
jaise chhupi ho
ghoonghat mein dulhan

tujhsaa mehboob
meri jaan
zamaane mein nahin
jo bataane mein
mazaa hai
wo chhupaane mein nahin
dekhenge ham bhi
chhuptaa hai kab tak
koyee bachaa ke
yoon hamse daaman

chhootegaa pardaa
chhootegaa pardaa
nazrein milengee
dil dhakenge

pyaar ke sholey phir bhadkenge

dekhenge
ekhenge
dekhenge
dekhenge ae
dekhenge apne jaani ko
jee bhar bhar ke
dekhenge apne jaani ko
jee bhar bhar ke
allaah main sad ke jaaun
aisi nazar ke
allaah main sad ke jaaun
aisi nazar ke
kyunke
parde mein
parde mein
parde mein
parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke
parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke

raaz ki baatein
kehnaa hai tumko
dil mein hamaare
rehnaa hai tum ko
raaz ki baatein
kehnaa hai tumko
dil mein hamaare
rehnaa hai tum ko

aa aa aa aa aa
apne jalwe meri nazron pe
lutaanaa hogaa aa
aaj to tum ko
mere saamne aanaa hogaa aa
dard e jigar
bhi
meethhi kasak bhi
phir hans hanske sehnaa hai tum ko

jitnaa bachoge
jitnaa bachoge
mera tumhaara saamnaa hogaa
haathhon se dil ko
thaamnaa hogaa aa

milte ho
milte ho
milte ho
milte ho
milte ho apne
yaaron se
kyun dar dar ke
milte ho apne
yaaron se
kyun dar dar ke
allaah main sad ke jaaun
aisi nazar ke
allaah main sad ke jaaun
aisi nazar ke
kyunke
parde mein
parde mein
parde mein
parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke
parde mein koyee
baithhaa hai pardaa kar ke
