Readers farmaishes
Seeing that I receive farmaishes (requests) from my readers , It would be a good idea to have a separate page for that. So here is this page. Please use it to give your farmaishes for songs that you may like me to include in the blog. Just make sure to check that the song asked by you is not yet posted. You may refer to the pages that shows the complete lists of posted songs (by movie/ by music director/by year- as the case may be) for reference.
Thanks !

Hi Atul,
I made a whole lot of farmaishes on 2nd Feb and 25th June this year. I just checked now and some of them are done, some are still pending. I guess they will find their way into the blog eventually too – after all there are many other farmaishes out there.:-)
From all the farmaishes I had made, I’d like to just repeat one (made on 2nd Feb). Songs of Kalpana (1960). Please do listen to them and if you like them, please consider posting. 🙂
Also, I’d like to add a couple of new farmaishes:
– daiya re daiya, laaj mohe laage (Leader)
– roop tera aisa darpan mein na samaaye (Ek Baar Muskura Do).
‘
As usual, at your own pace. 🙂
Thanks.

Dear Atul Jee,
It was just a chance that I came across your Blog and your collection of OLD songs took me back to my childhood. I am
nearing 70 now and this is first time that I could again hear the
very old songs of my liking from 1935 — to — 1948. I am so , so ,
so thankful to you that I am feeling short of the words to praise
you.
I have one very special request. I have been trying to find details
about 2 songs for the last many years , rather decades but no luck
till now. I have a glimmering hope now that you may be able to help me. Right now I will mention about one song only which I
heard first time sometime in 1949 — or — 1950 . It is a Duet, by
some singers of 1930 — 1940 era. I don’t know their names or the
name of the picture.I only remember the full tune and one main
middle lyric — ” MERE RANG BHARE SAPNO ME KAUN AYA RE”
The starting lyrics are not exactly but something like — ” PIPAL KI
CHAON TALE , RAS KI PHUHAR , BARKHA BAHAR ”
Atul jee, with your so deep research about the old songs, would you kindly help me in in locating this SONG , the PICTURE and
the SINGERS. If a Video CLIP could also be found , it would be
simply wonderful
Thanking you for all the pain you are taking in posting these
very very old songs and giving immense happiness to many old
people like me by reviving their nostalgic memories.
Thanking you again and again,
yours,

On the given clues by you I found it very difficult to locate your song.
The nearest I could find was 1)Peepal ki chhaon me… Film Dak Bangla-Singers Suraiya and Indravadan (1947) and 2)Peepal ki chhaon tale….Film Sanyasi(1945)-Singer Johrabai and Amar.
on going thru the lyrics, words mentioned by you are not in both songs. However,if you listen to these songs, may be THEY are your songs. In case of old song memories,it is frequent to mix up wordings. As I am also in your age group,I know.

From my childhood days I vaguely recall a song that we had a 78rpm record of. My (late) mother had purchased it in Gwalior, India in around 1966/67. I cannot say whether it was a current song then or from previous years.
I left Pakistan in 1974 and have been living in the UK since then. Although I would love to hear the song again, but over the period of time I have forgotten the verses. The music haunts me without words!
It was a playful song in which some girls are playing in a garden and perhaps playing ‘Kabadi’ and singing. One of the verses goes something like this:
Mara, Mara, Mara, Sultan Ne Mara
Aidi Main Youn Aidi Dalay Jisko Dekhe Tara
It is a song sung by female(s?) and Chorus. Either kindly upload the song or tell me the opening verses and the name of the singer(s) and the film.
Can anyone please help? I would be most grateful, many thanks and God bless.

You are mentioning about the Asha Bhosle song ‘mere hathon me lage to rang laye mehendi tere naam ki,piya mange re mange re…’,which is from film TUMHARE LIYE-1978.
It is also filmed on Vidya Sinha, with music by Jaidev.

“Koi mere haathon mein mehandi lagaa de”
I have seen it on Doordarshan channel`s CHITRAHAAR in the year 1988 or 89.
Vividhbharthi people also used to play that song regularly during those days. Song is not that much great, but it is a good one and evokes nostalgia for me and its being now very elusive.

Recently you have posted 6 songs of MAYURPANKH,all sung by Lata, for 6 different artists each time. There are songs,in which,in the same song,3 or 4 artists lip-synch one singer. One famous example is the song ‘Humko tumse hai pyar….’ from AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY-1977,in which Nitu,Shabana and Parveen lip synch Lata in the same song, while Rafi, kishore and Mukesh are used for 3 heroes.Incidently, this is the only song of these 3 male singers together in the history.
The point is,there is a record making song,in which 8 actors have lipsynched mohd.Rafi in one song.
Film-Badnam Farishtey-1971
Song-BA MA PhD…….(There is another song with the same begining in
film ‘Adhikar’-1954,sung by Asha & Chorus)
Singer-Mohd.Rafi
Lyricist-Asad Bhopali
Composer-N.Dutta

The Music Director was KHOKHAN CHAUDHARI and the lyrics were by Sardanand Tiwari.
There were in all 7 songs in the film.
As you say all the 4 sisters have sung songs in this film, but not in any one song.
They have different songs.
Only Usha and Meena have a song together along with Khokhan Chaudhari-‘Sarara sarara…..’
The film is ‘Iss paar ya uss paar’

What a wonderful site! Hoping someone can help me identify a song I saw in a movie friends were watching way back in 1987 or so? It might have been an old movie then…the scene had an older woman who was alone singing a song of mourning or grief, (or maybe it was a love song). I think her husband had died. She was inside and the entire scene was blue (it was night time). My friends seemed to suggest that she was famous and that the song was perhaps also. So little information and I know almost nothing about Bollywood movies or songs, but it has haunted me all these years.
