I know of at least two movies called “Amaanat”. The earlier one was released in 1955 and it had Bharat Bhushan and Chand Usmani in lead roles. The later one was released sometime in 1970s and this movie had Manoj Kumar and Sadhana in lead roles.

Sahaara koi mil jaataa

I am not much familiar with the name of this movie called “Raftaar”(1955). Thanks to the farmaish of songs from this movie, I now know that this movie had Talat Mehmood and Nadira in lead roles. Talat Mehmood, like Mukesh was toying with the idea of establishing himself as an actor-singer. Singing career of both of them suffered and both of them soon gave up acting.

It has been pointed out by my readers that the song “Ramaiyya vasta vaiyya” from “Shree 420” (1955) is missing from the blog. Not just this song, I am sure many great gems of yesteryears are missing from the blog. But I will gradually add all these songs. The fact that so many great songs are still missing from this blog despite the blog boasting of over 2600 songs is an indication that there are far too many great songs that were created during the golden era of Bollywood movie music.

“Sardaar” (1955) is an obscure movie and very little details are available about this movie. Even its songs are extremely difficult to come by though the songs of this movie were popular during its days.

I am aware of at least three movies called “Faraar”. These movies were released at a gap of 10 years beginning from 1955. In other words we had three movies by the same name, viz Faraar (1955), Faraar (1965) and Faraar (1975). In this blog, I have posted songs from all these movies.
