Bade miyan deewaane aise na bano

Posted on: October 3, 2008

In case one wants to learn driving from a driving school, the trainer takes the beginner on the road and gives him hands on training.

In this case, I S Jauhar wants to learn the art of impressing the fair sex. His trainer, Joy Mukherjee, like a driving trainer, takes him on the road and gives him theoretical as well as practical training.

Does I S Jauhar become an expert after all this crash course ? The song and its video will tell you. It is a hilarious song as the listener and watcher of this song will be kept amused throughout.

The song is sung by Rafi, and it is easily one of his most memorable fun songs. I S Jauhar too gets credited as a singer in this song for uttering the word “yahi to maaloom nahin hai”. His voice is so much like Kishore Kumar’s. I wonder if Kishore Kumar was engaged to utter this line in this song. Of course that was not the case.

Majrooh Sultanpuri must have enjoyed writing the lyrics, going by the words of the lyrics. And Laxmikant Pyarelal, ever so good in composing fun songs excel in this song. In this music, one can clearly notice the influence of western tunes that were popular all over the world at that time. One can even see a glimpse of “twist” in this song, which was a craze among the happening crowd at that time.

So, here is a great fun song from a fun movie called “Shaagird”. In this song, a middle aged man I S Jauhar decides to learn how to impress the fair sex. This includes exercising, running on the beach and even swimming ( with a dalda can strapped on the back to keep him afloat). Hilarious stuff !

The best part comes at the last just when one thinks that the song is over. It is when I S Jauhar, fully trained and no longer under the watchful eyes of his guru goes out to try out his new found skills in his khataara car. The target for his target practice is Saira Bano and this part of the song is in the voice of Manna Dey.

Overall, it is a must watch fun song.

Lyrics

lalalalalalala
bade miyaan deewane aise naa bano
haseenaa kyaa chaahe hamse suno
o bade miyaan deewaane aise naa bano
haseenaa kyaa chaahe (yahee to maaloom nahin hai) hamse suno

sabse pahle suno miyaan karke warjish bano jawaan
sabse pahle suno miyaan karke warjish bano jawaan
chehraa polish kiyaa karo thodi maalish kiyaa karo
Istyle se uthe qadam seenaa zyaadaa to pet kam
ai kiblaa ujle baalon ko rang daalo ban jaao gulfaam
bade miyaan deewane aise naa bano
haseenaa kyaa chaahe hamse suno

seekho kartab naye-naye fashion ke dhab naye-naye
seekho kartab naye-naye fashion ke dhab naye-naye
dheelaa-dhaalaa libaas kyun resham pahno kapaas kyun
fan ye jaadoogari kaa hai armaan tumko pari kaa hai
to kiblaa maaro mantar dainty ban kar niklo waqt-e-shaam
bade miyaan deewane aise naa bano
haseenaa kyaa chaahe hamse suno

tanhaai mein agar kahin aa jaaye wo nazar kahin
tanhaai mein agar kahin aa jaaye wo nazar kahin
kahiye haathon mein haath daal ae gul-chehraa pari-jamaal
muddat se dil udaas hai tere honthon ki pyaas hai
ae dilabar mere lab par kab chhalkegaa tere lab kaa jaam
bade miyaan deewaane aise naa bano
haseenaa kyaa chaahe hamse suno
o bade miyaan deewaane aise naa bano
haseenaa kyaa chaahe ( yahee to maaloom nahin hai) hamse suno

lalalalalala
Is tanhai me ai haseen itni doori bhali nahin
aaya mausam bahaar ka rakhle dil bekaraar ka
mere haathon thon thon….
me haath daal
ae gul-chehraa pari-jamaal
muddat se dil udaas da da..
daas hai tere honthon ki pyaas hai
ae dilbar mere lab par kab chhalkegaa tere lab kaa jaa jaa jaa
