Sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koye

on:“Gopi” was one of the last movies with Dilip Kumar as the hero. In this movie, Dilip Kumar sings a few philosophical songs. This song “sukh ke sab saathi” is perhaps the best known of the songs of this movie.
This song was sung by Rafi. Lyrics is by Rajinder Krishan and Kalyanji Anandji composed the music. Rajinder Krishan seemed to be fuly involved in writing the lyrics of this movie, as he came up with some very thoughful lyrics, not only for this song, but for other songs of this movie as well.
In fact, the combination of the singer, lyricist and the music directors, all of them experts in their fields helped create this memorable song which is still so nice to listen to.

Lyrics
aaa
sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi
sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi
mere Raama, mere Raama
teraa naam ik saanchaa doojaa na koi
sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi
jeewan aani jaani chhaayaa
jeewan aani jaani chhaayaa
jhoothi maayaa jhoothi kaayaa
phir kaahe ko saari umariyaa
phir kaahe ko saari umariyaa
paapki gathri dhoyi
sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi
naa kuchh teraa naa kuchh meraa
naa kuchh teraa naa kuchh meraa
ye jag jogi waalaa pheraa
raajaa ho yaa rank sabhi kaa
raajaa ho yaa rank sabhi kaa
ant ek saa hoi
sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi
baahar ki tu maati phaanke
baahar ki tu maati phaanke
manke bheetar kyunn na jhaanke
ujle tanpar maan kiyaa
ujle tanpar maan kiyaa aur
man ki mail na dhoyi
sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi
mere Raama, mere Raama
teraa naama ik saanchaa doojaa na koi
sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi

Santosh,
This song is one of my favorites and it is based on Raga Darbari.

Oh, I did not know you had this song also in your list. I just mentioned this in my comment on the other Gopi song (“Ramchandra”).
I like this song very much. And its picturisation of Dilip is very good. Very typical. 🙂
