Tere sur aur mere geet
Posted on: December 4, 2008
In the past I have discussed how can one read out keynote address or a weather news Bollywood style, viz in the form of songs.
Now let us see how a chemistry class can be taught Bollywood style, by singing a song.
Suppose the teacher has to talk about a chemical reaction, which reads
sur + geet = preet
Then she can sing this song in which she will describe the reaction in all its details.
This move had a musical title, viz “Goonj Uthi Shehnaai”. As can be seen, the song is just as musical with words like Sur and geet. This song was sung by Lata and picturised on Ameeta.
Homework
Based on the above lesson, now write a song to describe the chemical reaction of
Hydrogen +Oxygen = Water
PS-This song has another (sad) version as well, which gets played as a background song towards the end of the movie.

tere sur aur mere geet
tere sur aur mere geet
dono mil kar banegi preet
tere sur aur mere geet
dhadkan mein tu hai samaayaa huaa
khayaalon mein tu hi tu chhaayaa huaa
aaa dhadkan mein tu hai samaayaa huaa
khayaalon mein tu hi tu chhaayaa huaa
duniyaa ke mele mein laakhon mile
magar tu hi tu dil ko bhaayaa huaa
main teri jogan tu meraa meet
dono mil kar banegi preet
tere sur aur mere geet
mujhko agar bhool jaaoge tum, aa aa aaaa
mujhse agar dur jaoge tum
aaa mujhko agar bhool jaaoge tum, aa aa aaaa
mujhse agar dur jaoge tum
meri muhabbat mein taaseer hai, aa aa aaaa
meri muhabbat mein taaseer hai
to khinch ke mere paas aaoge tum
dekho hamaari hogi jeet
dono mil kar banegi preet
tere sur aur mere geet

LOL at your intro of the song.
Only you can come up with such imaginative stuff. 🙂
Chemistry class indeed !!!
Very nice song.
All songs of this movie are top-quality.
Vasant Desai.
I think this song was also quite popular in the “chhayageet” category. 🙂
