Thandi thandi hawaa mein dil lalchaaye

“Prince” was one of the last movies as lead actor for Shammi Kapoor as well as for Vyjyantimala. And curiously, it was the first and last time that the two of them acted together in a movie.
Vyjyantimala was an exponent in classical dances of India, and her dances in Bollywood movie songs are true professional quality dances.
“Prince” was a movie that is a must watch for Vyjyanti Mala’s dances alone. And here she gets to dance in a variety of dance forms.
Here is one song from this movie “Thandi thandi hawa me dil lahraaye”. This is just an appetizer and the dance is not really a classical dance, but there are some really outstanding dances and songs in this movie that I am going to post in coming days.

This movie too brings back memories.
Shammi had put on way too much weight by the time this movie came around. Same for Vyjanthi. So the pairing was a bit “heavy” on the audience. 🙂
Nice song this one. Used to be the first “Th” song in Antakshari (till “Thande thande paani” came along). 🙂

Nice song. Talking of songs with “thanda”, I am reminded of “Thandi hawaein … ” by Lata and “Thandi hawa yeh chandni suhani..” by Kishore kumar. Maybe you can do a “thandi’ category and see what other songs are there in this category.

Not one of my favorite Shammi Kapoor movies in terms of music but the dance competition between Helen and Vyjyanti Mala is classic.
