“Anarkali” was a movie that was full of memorable songs that continue to enthrall its listeners even today. Several songs from this movie have attained iconic status by now.
This song “jaag dard ishq jaag” is undoubtedly an evergreen song. Hemant Kumar ( then a newcomer) sang this song alongwith Lata. Rajinder Krishan was the lyricist and C Ramchandra composed the music.
The movie “Anankali” itself was one of biggest musical blockbusters of all time. It is full of iconic songs, and this song is just one of the many such songs that I intend to post in this blog.

I saw this movie many years ago.
Lots of famous songs, the most famous being no doubt “ye zindagi usi ki hai”.
