Bedardi baalma tujhko mera man yaad karta hai

After so many “Aarzoo” songs beginning with “A”, it is time for me to move on to the other letters of the alphabet. And here is an Aarzoo song beginning with “B”.
Yes, it is “bedardi baalma tujhko mera man yaad karta hai”. This song was sung by Lata and was picturised on Sadhana.
Though this song was hugely popular, I am surprised to find that this song did not appear in Binaca geetmala finals of that year. I suppose that is what happens when one movie has too many popular songs and there are too many musicla blockbusters competing for the same eardrums.
Going purely by instincts and forgetting about the ranking of this song during that time, this song is yet another popular song from this movie that had great songs crammed all over the movie.
And indeed, it was song like this one and others that made “Aarzoo” a big success at the box office.

When I was very young, there used to be songs which I used to call “heroine crying songs”. I did not know many of them but they all had this one song in the movie – usually the last or second-last song of the movie when Lata would sing one of those “heroine crying her heart out” songs.
TBH I did not care too much for them then – I just wanted the story to move on.
Later on I realised that many of these songs were very nice to listen to. This song for example. Very nice.
(Some more songs that I could give as example that fall in this category are “tera jaana dil ke armaanon ka mit jaana” (just posted by you) or “chaand phir nikla” or “rasik balma” or “mohe bhool gaye sanwariya”.
