Naa roothho roothho naa

“Jawaan Mohabbat” was a Shammi Kapoor movie in his usual style, but released a few years too late. It was released in 1971, when Rajesh Khanna had already taken over as the reigning superstar.
I am not sure how “Jawaan Mohabbat” fared. Honestly speaking, I had not even heard about this movie before i got the farmaish for the songs of this movie.
I have heard this song, but I was not aware that the movie it belonged to was called “Jawaan Mohabbat” or that it was a Shammi Kapoor movie.
This movie may have been an attempt to turn the clock back to 1960s, when Shammi Kapoor ruled the roost.
The songs certainly were reminiscent of Shammi Kapoor movies of 1960s. This song “na rootho rootho na” is as good as any other Rafi-Shammi songs. The same team of Hasrat Jaipuri and Shankar Jaikishan had helped create this song.
It is a very nice song, but then it was 1971, and the time had moved on. The movie did not achieve much at the box office, and the songs, great that they were, were elbowed out by other songs. 1971 was a year that saw a bumper crop of outstanding songs.

I find this a fun song, a very lively one also.
You have typed by mistake Pyar Mohabbat in the tag instead of Jawan Mohabbat (also in some places in the song intro).
